CONVICTS:GROWING OF COMPETENCIES

Project Summary

Our KA2 project is dedicated to facilitating the successful reintegration of individuals recently released from prison, helping them to rebuild their lives and become active, contributing members of society. Recognizing the unique challenges that former convicts face-such as social stigma, lack of employment opportunities, and psychological barriers -this project aims to develop a comprehensive methodology to support their transition back into the community. The focus will be on creating a framework that not only reduces the risk of reoffending but also promotes personal growth, stability, and social inclusion. The project will involve a series of training sessions and educational activities tailored to equip former convicts with the skills needed to navigate life after release. These training programs will cover a range of topics, including job readiness, financial management, emotional resilience, and conflict resolution. Additionally, the project will emphasize mental health support, recognizing that addressing the psychological needs of these individuals is essential for their successful reintegration. Practical workshops, peer mentoring, and role-playing exercises will form the core of the training, offering hands-on experience to help participants adapt to societal norms and expectations. Furthermore, the project will engage local communities, employers, and social service organizations to foster a collaborative environment that supports former convicts in their reintegration journey. By building partnerships with these stakeholders, we aim to create a network of opportunities that provides former convicts with access to employment, housing, and social services, while also working to reduce the stigma associated with their past. Public awareness campaigns and community outreach will be key components, aiming to educate society on the importance of second chances and breaking the cycle of recidivism. Ultimately, the project will produce a detailed methodology for reintegration, outlining best practices and innovative approaches to help former convicts lead crime-free, productive lives. This methodology will be shared with partner organizations, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders across Europe to ensure a wider impact. Our long-term vision is to create a sustainable model that not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to safer, more inclusive communities by reducing reoffending rates and encouraging societal acceptance.
